Making Space for What’s Next

Sometimes the best way to move forward is to create a little space first. This summer, I’m pressing pause on Career Insight Studio to reflect on how it can best serve this community in the years ahead.

When I started Career Insight Studio in 2023, my goal was simple: create the kind of career resource I wish I’d had throughout my own journey (especially earlier in my career as a busy working mom of two!).

Since then, we’ve explored how to have effective career conversations, build your own support squad (using AI), delivering effective executive presentations, and the moments at work that don’t always come with a handy playbook. Along the way, many of you have shared your own stories, challenges, and wins. Those conversations have become one of the most rewarding parts of this community.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about what’s next.

The world of work is changing quickly. AI is reshaping how we learn and work. The job market feels different than it did just a few years ago. The questions people are asking about their careers are evolving, too.

I want Career Insight Studio to evolve alongside it.

Rather than trying to squeeze new ideas into an already full schedule, I’ve decided to take a short pause over the summer to reflect on where this platform can have the greatest impact.

Not because there’s a shortage of topics to cover.

Because I want to be more intentional about what I create and make sure it delivers value.

Sometimes the most strategic thing we can do is pause long enough to ask better questions before rushing into the next chapter. That’s the permission slip I’m giving myself right now, and it’s one I’d gladly hand to anyone feeling the pressure to always keep moving.

The goal is to be back this fall with fresh perspective and a clearer vision for where Career Insight Studio is headed next.

Until then, thank you for reading, sharing, replying, and trusting me to be a small part of wherever you are on your career journey. I’m incredibly grateful.

Thanks & all the best in the meantime.

I recently attended an intro session for @howwomenlead and left wishing I had known about this organization sooner!
If you’re a woman with significant experience and big ambitions, whether that’s a board seat, access to capital, stronger leadership networks, or simply finding your people, it’s worth a look.

Happy Mothers Day! To the moms showing up even when the calendar is full and the timing isn’t perfect...this one’s for you. 🌸
I’m taking a little trip down memory lane today on the blog.
Back in early 2020, I almost said no to volunteering at my son Dylan’s middle school for Career Day.
Work was busy, my plate was full, and I’d pulled the classic move of offering to be a “backup” …fully expecting not to be called.
Spoiler alert: I was called.
What followed involved poster boards, a laptop demo, candy bribes, and the very humbling experience of trying to make digital marketing sound cool to 7th & 8th graders all while standing next to a fireman.
When it was over, I asked Dylan how he thought it went. His answer is the whole reason I wrote today’s post.
This Mother’s Day, I’m grateful for the yes I almost didn’t say. 🥰
Full story is on the blog. Link in bio.
